Schedulability Analysis for Real-Time Processes with Age Constraints
نویسنده
چکیده
Real-time systems not only require the semantical correctness of their operations but also the availability of the computational results within some predefined time intervals. Typical applications are composed of processes which are responsible to execute time-bound computations. Depending on the application specific context processes have to complete due to time constraints. Most frequently are periodic time constraints for which various schedulability tests have been developed. Recently age constraints have shown to be adequate for a certain scope of applications, particularly for those based on real-time data bases. Instead of constructing specific schedules a transformation from processes with age constraints to periodic processes is introduced and a least upper bound to test their schedulability is derived.

A Generic Approach to Schedulability Analysis of Real-Time Tasks
In off-line schedulability tests for real time systems, tasks are usually assumed to be periodic, i.e. they are released with fixed rates. To relax the assumption of complete knowledge on arrival times, we propose to use timed automata to describe task arrival patterns. In a recent work, it is shown that for fixed priority scheduling strategy and tasks with only timing constraints (i.e. executi...
متن کاملDeductive Schedulability Verification Methodology of Real-Time Software using both Refinement Verification and Hybrid Automata
Real-time software runs over real-time operating systems, and guaranteeing qualities is difficult. As timing constraints and resource allocations are strict, it is necessary to verify schedulability, safety and liveness properties. In this paper, we formally specify real-time software using hybrid automata and verify its schedulability using both deductive refinement theory and scheduling theor...
متن کاملScheduling Aperiodic and Sporadic Tasks in Hard Real - Time Systems
The stringent timing constraints as well as the functional correctness are essential requirements of hard real-time systems. In such systems, scheduling plays a very important role in satisfying these constraints. The priority based scheduling schemes have been used commonly due to the simplicity of the scheduling algorithm. However, in the presence of task interdependencies and complex timing ...
متن کاملIntegrating Schedulability Analysis with UML-RT
The use of object-oriented techniques and methodologies to design real-time control systems appears to be necessary in order to deal with the increasing complexity of such systems. Recently, many object-oriented methods have been used for the modelling and designing of real-time control systems. We believe an approach that integrates the advancements in both object modelling and design methods,...
متن کاملFeedback-Based Admission Control for Hard Real-Time Task Allocation Under Dynamic Workload on Many-Core Systems
In hard real-time systems, a computationally expensive schedulability analysis has to be performed for every task. Fulfilling this requirement is particularly tough when system workload and service capacity are not available a priori and thus the analysis has to be conducted at runtime. This paper presents an approach for applying control-theorybased admission control to predict the task schedu...
